Petridish is partnering with the Provincial Growth Fund to create Dunedin’s first product accelerator - the "Inventor's Lab". Our aim is to develop a community who are passionate about designing products across a range of technologies by providing access to workshop and educational resources. If you have an idea for a gadget or physical product that you want to design, join other community members and our next great inventors to create prototypes at our Inventor's Lab, while getting advice from New Zealand’s best product designers, distribution experts and mentors.

Explore and develop your ideas in our creative lab. Design initial product concepts utilising a range of current design software, and through good old-fashioned trial and error we'll bring out the inventor in each of us!
prototype
Your one-stop-shop for all your prototyping needs for makers of any skill level; work individually or collaboratively using a variety of high and low-tech tools and materials, digital fabrication tools such as CNC routers, laser cutters and 3D printers, an electronic workstation and robotic platforms.
educate
The Inventors Lab supports and educates our startup community in the use of technology for prototyping and design through a range of events, workshops and night classes. We provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage you to design, experiment, build and invent.
